非線形微分方程式の解とその漸近挙動

研究概要

本研究は、研究代表者と分担者との緊密な協力の下で、順調に進行し、研究課題に関する多くの重要な結果が得られ、当初の目標は略達成された。以下その概要を述べる。
本研究において考察された非線形微分方程式は、大別すると、(1)退化を許す2階放物型偏微分方程式、(2)遅れ型の2階放物型関数偏微分方程式、(3)退化を許す楕円型偏微分方程式(2階及び高階)、(4)反応-拡散型放物型偏微分方程式系、(5)非圧縮性 Navier-Stokes 微分方程式を中心とする流体力学の偏微分方程式、(6)高階の中立型関数微分方程式、の6種類である。これらの方程式を定性的理論の見地から解析して、解の大域的性質について有意義な知見を得ること、これが本研究の目標であった。
応用問題との関連で殊の外重要なものは、正値解と振動解である。正値解に関しては、定常的方程式の場合には空間変数が無限遠に近付くときの、また非定常的方程式の場合には時間が無限に経過するときの、漸近挙動(増大度、減衰度、あるいは極限に収束する速度の精密な評価を含む)が考察の対象になった。振動解に関しては、全ての解が振動解である場合、全ての解が非振動解である場合、振動解と非振動解が共存する場合があるが、それぞれの場合の生起を特徴付けることが果して可能であるかという問題に研究の焦点が絞られた。このような問題意識に基づいて獲得された我々の結果は、何れも新しく、理論的価値の高いもので、国内外の一流の数学ジャーナルに掲載されて世に問われることになるが、世界の同分野の研究者の関心を呼ぶことは確実と思われる。本研究に対する研究費補助金の交付に深く感謝する。研究代表者と分担者は、本研究の成果を踏み台にして、非線形微分方程式の定性的研究の一層の発展と深化を図り、国際的評価に耐える研究成果を挙げ続ける決意である。
