研究概要	研究実施計画に沿って、まず、各分野からアルゴリズムに関するさまざまな問題を拾い出してみた。その結果、代数の分野ではエラー訂正コードに関する問題、幾何学の分野では結び目理論や空間グラフに関する問題、確率統計の分野ではある種のコンピュータシミュレーションの問題、数学基礎論の分野では線形論理に関する問題、また、コンピュータサイエンスの分野からは木オートマトンに関する問題などを重点問題として選んで研究を進めた。研究成果としては、必ずしもアルゴリズムに関する成果だけが得られたわけではないものの、「研究発表」欄に記載した発表論文以外にも、口頭発表したものや投稿中、投稿準備中のものがいくつかある。具体例を記すと、 1.2方向木オートマトンという新しい概念を導入して、それが1方向オートマトンを真に含む拡張になっていることを示した。一方、もう一つ別の方法で木オートマトンを拡張し、それとメモリ付き文脈自由文法との関係を明らかにした。 2.空間グラフに関するブック表現、コポルディズム、ホモトピー、ホモロジーについての性質や特徴付けが得られた。 3.数理論理学においてP-W問題と称されている問題に一つの構文的手法で解を与えた。などが挙げられる。コンピュータによるシミュレーションについては、現在その結果を検討中であり、結果次第では将来への発展が期待される。
