文化の習得と継承に関する人類学的研究-北東アフリカにおける伝統的知識体系と近代化

研究概要	本調査研究の目的は、北東アフリカの多様な生業形態をもつ社会で培われてきた知識体系が、習得・継承されていく文化装置を浮き彫りにすると同時に、その装置が近代化の中で遭遇する諸問題を明らかにしていくことにある。平成7年度には、生業、社会組織、および宗教的な事象に関する伝統的な知識が、いかにして次世代に継承されてゆくのかという点に関して調査を行った。本年度はこれらの側面についての調査を継続すると同時に、近代化によりこうした知識の継承が、どのように変化しているかについても調査を開始した。福井は、エチオピア西南部の農牧民ボディの社会で、代表的な栽培植物であるモロコシについて調査を行なった。そして牛の毛色に基づいた世界観がモロコシの品種の多様性をうながす要因であり、牧畜および農耕という生業のレベルの知識の継承と、観念的世界に関する知識の継承とが密接な関連を持つことを明らかにした。栗本は、エチオピア西部農耕民アニュワの社会で、近年の政治情勢の変化が、伝統的な教育装置である年齢組織にどのような変質をもたらしているかを調査した。宮脇は、エチオピア西南部農牧民アルボレ社会で、伝統的な牧畜に関する知識体系とその伝承のメカニズムについて調査を行った。松田は、エチオピア西南部採取民コエグで、古老たちのライフヒストリーの聞き取りを行い、伝統的な知識の習得過程が人びとの語りの中でいかに表現されるかについて研究した。石原は、エチオピア西部に居住するムスリムであるオロモの人びとの社会を調査し、聖者信仰のもつ社会的な意味と、宗教的な信念の継承のメカニズムについて研究した。縄田は、エチオピア北東部の牧畜民アファール社会を調査し、牧畜に関する伝統的知識の継承と、近年におけるその変化について研究を行った。藤本は、エチオピア西南部農耕民マロで、栽培植物に関する民俗植物学的知識体系の調査を行い、また、学校教育の普及による若年層の民俗的知識の変化についても調査した。Gebre Yntisoは、エチオピア西南部農耕民アリにおいて、学校教育の普及と、それにともなう言語活動の変化について調査を行った。平成9年度は、近代化による伝統的な文化装置の変容について、さらに踏み込んだ調査を行う予定である。
