研究概要	昨年度にスタートしたプラケットRVBのスピンギャップ相に関する国際共同研究は順調な展開を見せ、2次元ハイゼンベルグスピン系の量子相転移の臨界現象の研究へと発展し、3次元O(3)古典スピン系の臨界指数と一致することが確立された。スピンギャップに関する研究は、3次元的に結合した梯子鎖の秩序無秩序転移、梯子鎖のホール係数などの輸送現象の議論へと発展した。強相関電子系の金属絶縁体転移を量子モンテカルロ法、スケーリング理論などを用いて研究し、フィリング制御型の2次元系のモット転移でハイパースケーリング仮説が成立し、動的臨界指数が4であることを示した。金属絶縁体転移を示すマンガン酸化物のスピン励起構造を二重交換模型を用いて研究し、実験結果との比較で良い一致を見た。重い電子系の基礎モデルである近藤格子模型に対する密度行列繰り込み群の計算手法を確立した。それを用いて、近藤絶縁体のスピンギャップ、チャージギャップの関数形を確立した。さらに、常磁性金属相におけるスピンとチャージのフリーデル振動を観測することによってフェルミ面が大きいことが示された。またその振動の減衰の様子から、近藤格子の常磁性金属相が相関臨界指数の非常に小さな特異な朝永-ラッティンジャー液体であることが明らかになった。凝縮系多体問題に対する第一原理計算に関しては、圧力一定の第一原理分子動力学法プログラムを開発・整備し、大規模計算を目的として並列計算機用に最適化を行った。また構造転移や表面での原子拡散の活性障壁を求める効率的な計算アルゴリズムを開発した。このプログラムを使って、グラファイト、シリサイド、BC2N、グラファイト層間化合物の圧力誘起構造変化のシミュレーションを行った。これにより、高温でのグラファイト-立方晶ダイヤモンド転移と、低温で見られたグラファイト-六方晶ダイヤモンド転移の違いを明らかにした。
