研究概要

1.炭化物分解によるダイヤモンド生成過程の解析・評価
当初SiC分解過程の詳細な調査を予定していたが、既に確認していたB_4Cの分解によるダイヤモンド生成実験が成都で急速に発展したので、主力はB_4Cに振り向けた。SiCについては次年度に補充する。Ni_<70>Mn_<25>Co_5よりもFe_<55>Ni_<29>Co_<16>合金によって、より効率よく分解できることが解った。関連して、中国でよく使われるNi_<70>Mn_<25>Co_5合金融剤を多くのソースから集め、組成を調査した。
2.ダイヤモンドの不純物評価
B_4Cから合成したダイヤモンドは青黒色の粉末で、X線回折では異常な特徴はない。成都側分担者を招聘した際にカソードルミネッセンスも観察した。多量のホウ素が固溶していると考えられる。
3.アンビルの形状による圧力発生特性の比較・検討
分担者を招聘し、両国のアンビル形状と圧媒体の違いによる圧力発生特性の差異について、高圧空間内の圧媒体の流動及び圧力校正の二点について、共同実験を行った。更に圧媒体自体の特性評価も実施中である。
なお、本年度の研究結果は、3月中旬に研究者を成都へ派遣し、共同で解析・評価を行った。
4.中国政府から「友誼賞」を受賞
この共同研究(国際学術研究として採択2度)を軸とした学術交流活動(渡航10回、交流先20ヶ所以上)が評価され、9月27日、1996年度友誼賞を研究代表者が受賞した。友誼賞は中国の経済、科学技術、教育、文化等の発展に対して突出した功績のある外国人専門家に与えられ、外国人に対する最高の栄誉とされている。
