非線形ダイナミクスを活用した情報の高次元化と縮約

研究概要

本研究では、非線形ダイナミクスを利用することにより、全く新しいタイプの情報処理システムを構築することをめざした。動的非線形応答を情報源とする味覚・嗅覚などの感覚器モデル、非線形振動子のネットワークによる情報処理、遺伝情報の自己制御モデルなど、実際の実験を進めると共に数理解析も併せて行なってきた。本年度の主要な成果を以下、紹介する。
1.アクティブセンサーの構築
味覚・嗅覚のモデル系として様々な膜や界面をとりあげて非線形振動現象との関連で研究を行ってきた。“時間に依存した非線形応答"を情報源として活用することが、多種類の科学物質を区別する有効な方法であり、ボトルネックの殆ど唯一の解決法であることを、実験・理論両面から明らかにした。具体的には、嗅覚モデルとして、プリント型半導体ガスセンサーを作成し、周期的な温度変化を加え、その応答を見ることによってガス種を区別することが可能であることを見い出した。
2.非線形振動子のネットワークによる想起および長期記憶
動的な人工感覚器からの動的な入力情報を、非線形振動子のネットワーク上で情報処理することを試みた。このようなネットワークを用いると、連想記憶や想起の新しいニューラルネットワークモデルとなることを例示してきた。特に、逐次入力の時間経過によって異なるモードを想起することのできる、いわば動的な情報入力に対するコーディングがこのネットワークを用いて可能であることを示した。また、同調モードの解析を理論的に進めた解析を理論的に進めた結果、より設計性の高いニューラルネットワークの構築が可能となることが示唆された。
