研究概要	昨年からの継続研究として、加速器産生放射性核種を用いた癌のPETおよびSPECT診断研究が、医学、薬学、工学分野の密接な関係をもって、以下のように総合的に行われ、成果が得られた。臨床医学研究においては、高品質薬剤の合成技術の向上、さらには、全身用PET装置の開発、3次元画像化等のPET測定法の向上を伴い、特に2-フルオロ-2-デオキシグルコース(FDG)を中心に、直腸癌、乳腺腫瘍、肺癌、リンパ腫、膵臓等のPET診断研究が、多数の症例数を対象に行われた。これらのFDGによる癌診断においては、良、悪性の鑑別診断、治療効果の判定、およびStage診断等への有用性が注目され、それぞれ所期の成果が挙げられたが、同時に診断限界の指摘、さらにはX線CT, MRI等の他の画像診断との相補的診断による診断向上も計られた。これらの臨床診断と平行したFDG-PET診断における生化学的基礎研究が行われ、Glut-1グルコーストランスポータの発現とFDGの腫瘍集積との関係、FDGの腫瘍集積において、従来から考えられていたHcxokinase関与と共に電子伝達系との関係に対する基礎的考察さらには化学治療剤の効果との関係等が幅広く検討され、FDG-PET診断の意味、位置づけが評価された。また、PET, SPECT癌診断の新展開を計る目的に、広範性に富^<123>Iあるいは^<99m>Tc放射性薬剤を用いたFDG-PETのSPECT診断の試み、細胞内情報伝達機能および低酸素組織認識機能を具備するPET, SPECT用の新規放射性薬剤のデザインとそれらの基礎的、臨床的研究が行われ、成果が挙げられた。同時に抗腫瘍抗体、腫瘍集積性ペプタイドを母体とする標識薬剤の体内動態の制御に関する基礎的研究も進み、これらによる診断向上のみなく適切な放射性核種との組合せによる癌治療の方向性も提示された。
