研究概要	ラット海馬歯状回における、長期持続型LTP(LTP3)の誘導に伴って発現が増強する遺伝子のcDNAサブトラクション法によるクローニングを行い、各クローンの構造及び発現パターンの解析を進めた。また、LTPとの関連が示唆されている最初期遺伝子Zif268及びFos,Junの機能を修飾するMaf遺伝子の生物活性を解析した。脳発生関連遺伝子として以前に単離したICEファミリー遺伝子Nedd2の発現が、脳虚血後に一過性に上昇することがスナネズミのモデル系において見出された(野田)。LTP関連遺伝子の機能解析系の開発を目的として、ラット海馬スライスにおけるLTPを光学的に測定する方法を確立した(神野)。ラット小脳プルキンエ細胞におけるLTDに伴って発現する遺伝子のdifferential display法によるクローニングを行い、得られたクローンの構造及び発現パターンの解析を行った(山森)。ラット小脳細胞の分散培養系を用いて、LTD誘導にMAPキナーゼが関与する事を示した(平野)。p53欠損マウスより小脳由来の細胞株を多数樹立した(友岡)。アフリカツメガエル、ショウジョウバエ、線虫において神経発生関連遺伝子の探索を進め、ran(核膜輸送関連)遺伝子、P750(leucine rich repeat)遺伝子、Tolloid/BMP-1ファミリー(金属プロテアーゼ)遺伝子等を単離し、解析を進めた(福井、能勢、石原)。
