研究概要

本研究は平成7年度から発足した重点領域研究「細胞核の機能構造:分子構築と分子間コミュニケーション」(略称:細胞核の機能構造,領域番号:359)の総括班として機能することを目的とするものである。15名の班員中10名が計画班以外のメンバーで、研究評価(井川.志村、高浪、村松、柳田)と企画調整(池田、岡崎、榊、辻本、西本)の役割を分担した。平成7年度の研究組織は総括班のほか計画研究第1班(6名、代表者:水野重樹)、同第2班(7名、代表者:広瀬 進)、同第3班(6名、代表者:米田悦啓)と公募研究24名から構成された。総括班の主な活動状況は次の通りである。平成7年7月に班員名簿を含むニュースレターNo.1を発行、8月末に研究開始状況報告書を文部省に提出、8月31日から9月2日まで第1回合同班会議を開催(大阪、アイ・アイ・ランド、世話人:米田悦啓、約70名が参加)、11月6、7日公開シンポジウム「分子細胞生物学の新しい流れ」を開催(東京、細胞周期、生殖細胞の特質の両重点領域と合同)、12月8日総括班会議開催(名古屋)、12月ニューステタ-No.2発行、平成8年2月1日から3日まで染色体ワークショップ開催(グリーンピア岩沼、世話人:水野重樹、約135名が参加)、3月初旬に研究成果報告書を作成した。このほか、本領域のメンバーが世話人となって第68回日本生化学会大会シンポジウム「核構造・クロマチンの分子細胞生物学」(9月18日、仙台)、第18回日本分子生物学会年会シンポジウム「核・染色体の構造からとらえた細胞核機能」(12月9日、名古屋)を開催した。これらの活動により本重点領域の初年度の研究が班員間の緊密な連絡と研究内容の相互理解に基づいて順調に行われた。さらに、本領域の研究に対する一般研究者の関心を高めることができた。
