研究概要

本研究は重点領域研究「細胞核の機能構造:分子構築と分子間コミュニケーション」(領域番号:359、研究期間:平成7〜10年度)の総括班として研究の企画、調整、評価を行うことにより本領域の研究の推進を図ることを目的としたものである。14名の班員中9名が計画班以外のメンバーで、研究評価(井川、志村、西本、村松、柳田)と企画調整(池田、岡崎、榊、辻本)を分担した。計画班からは水野(領域代表者、計画研究第I班代表者)、広瀬(計画研究第II班代表者)、米田(計画研究第III班代表者)、木南(幹事、事務局担当)、丹羽(幹事、公開シンポジウム担当)の5名が加わった。平成9年度の本領域の研究組織は総括班のほか計画研究第I班6名、第II班7名、第III班6名、公募研究20名で構成した。総括班の主な活動は総括班会議の開催(平成9年8月26日、かずさアカデミアセンター、12月17日、京都宝ケ池プリンスホテル)、ニュースレターの発行2回(平成9年6月、10年1月)、第3回合同班会議の開催(平成9年8月25〜27日、かずさアカデミアセンター)、公開シンポジウム「分子細胞生物学の新しい流れ・第3回」(平成9年11月17、18日、重点領域「生殖細胞の特質」、「細胞複製装置」と共催、オオサカサンパレス)および染色体ワークショップ(平成10年2月5〜7日、奈良県文化会館)の開催、平成9年度研究成果報告書(平成10年3月)の取りまとめであった。本年度は哺乳類の染色体テロメア複製に関わるテロメレース分子のクローニング、ヒトの染色体セントロメア部位に局在するアルフオイド反復配列中のCENP-Bボックスが人工染色体のセントロメア機能に関与することの実証、分裂酵母の減数分裂におけるスピンドル極体の構造維持と染色体テロメアの集合に関与するKMs1タンパク質の発見、ニワトリのW染色体のヘテロクロマチン構築にクロモボックスタンパク質CHCB1が関与すること、哺乳動物細胞のタンパク質核移行機構に関与するPTAC58,PTAC97タンパク質の機能解明など重要な研究成果を得られた。
