量子色力学と原子核の模型

研究概要	原子核は長い間、核子からなる系とされ、それらの間に現象論的な強い相互作用を仮定することによって理解されてきた。一方、強い相互作用の基本的な理論は量子色力学である。本研究計画では、従来の原子核の模型と量子色力学との関連を探ることを目的とした。従来の原子核模型で仮定された核子間の相互作用は、中間子交換に依るものと考えられている。そこで量子色力学への第一歩として、中間子の自由度を陽に取り入れ、原子核を核子と種々の中間子からなる相対論的多体系とする模型(QHD)の有用性を明らかにした。核子も中間子も素粒子とするQHDに対して、核子を3個のクォークからなるものとし、クォーク間に中間子交換を仮定する模型が提唱された(QMC)。QMCは原子核の性質をよく説明し、QHDで仮定された核子-中間子間の核子密度依存性を自然に導いた。 QHDやQMCにとって、ロレンツ・スカラーポテンシャルの存在が必然的である。それは複雑な多体効果によるものなのか、或いはσ-中間子が存在し、それによるポテンシャルと考えるべきなのかは大きな問題である。QCDの有効理論に基づいてσ-中間子の存在、核物質中での質量の変化などが詳しく調べられ、実験的検証の可能性が指摘された。また、QCDの有効理論に従い、他の種々の中間子の質量の計算、バリオン間相互作用、中間子-ハイペロン相互作用、核子の構造自身の研究もなされ、その有用性を示すと共に、QCDのクォークの閉じ込めとカイラル対称性の自発的破れの研究も精力的に行なわれた。一方、原子核の中でQCD現象を直接観測出来れば、原子核とQCDの関連を考える上で重要な事実となる。その候補として、Nuclear Transparency,Quark-Gluon Plasma現象の実験的検証の可能性についての研究が進められた。
