光を用いた配位化合物の機能に関する新展開

研究概要

配位化合物の光物性は機能性物質設計の骨格と言うべきもので、この視点から、21世紀に向けた物質創生と、その設計の新しい概念を確立するには、どうすればよいかを検討するため、東京で研究会を開催した。現在の研究を総括し、また現在の研究方法を検討し、今後の研究の方向について討論した。今後ますます基礎的研究の重大性が増すこと、それに伴い基礎的研究分野の活性化の方策について検討したが、そのために基礎から応用を含めた研究体制を確立することの必要性が認識された。
本年度の研究成果は「1.光励起電子状態の磁気的・電子的性質とエネルギー緩和との相関、2.光誘起電子移動・エネルギー移動および光励起によって誘起される分子内および分子間の電子移動反応のダイナミックスとメカニズム、3.機能性材料群としての、配位化合物の特性について」の三分野それぞれに成果をあげることが出来た。また当初の予定にはなかったが、これら三つのテーマが相互に関連し、互いにまたがった領域についても研究の成果がみられた。パルスESR法による金属ポルフィリン-キノン系の反応中間体のイオン対の分離、また同じ手法を用いて光励起による分子スイッチの可能性の検討、高純度無置換金属フタロシアニンの新規合成法の開発と分子配向制御の成功、ドナー/アクセプターの配向の電子移動に対する効果、フラーレンへの有機金属化合物の光付加反応、長鎖アルキル基を有するビピリジンルテニウム錯体やポルフィリン金属錯体の界面における組織化と光第二高調波発生、および金属錯体を用いた光触媒反応について新しい知見が得られた。
