研究概要

先端科学技術の発展には、新素材の創製が重要な鍵となっており、その研究成果が先端的役割を果たすものと期待されている。無機材料の機能は、材料を構成する物質の化学組成、結晶構造ばかりでなく、微構造に強く依存する。特に、粒子の形状、配向やハイブリッド化に係わる新しい微構造の制御プロセスの研究が緊要とされている。
本研究は、初年度として、従来の合成プロセスを発展させるとともに、新規な構造制御プロセスを探索し、材料のナノ及びミクロ構造の解明と材料創製の反応諸過程を明らかにすることを目的として、研究を行ってきた。
固相が関与した構造制御プロセスでは、結晶構造をもとにしたナノレベルからの微構造制御及び新物質プロセスの探索の指針となる成果が出てきた。例えば、衝撃波を用いる極限環境下での相転移凍結相のプロセスや、濃度消光を抑えるために結晶構造中における多面体配位を考慮したポリタンタル酸塩を基とした蛍光体創製のための構造制御などの基本プロセスとなろう。
液相が関与する系においては、基質とのヘテロ構造制御による機能性配向膜のプロセシング、層状結晶を基とした新規な層状ポリシランの合成さらにガラス中での微結晶の析出と付活イオンによる局所構造を制御したアップコンバージョン特性の発現は、原子レベルからメソレベルまでの構造制御の指針となろう。
また、気相を介した反応においては、原子及び単位格子単位での無機材料の創製が可能となりうる示唆的な成果が得られた。
