研究概要	この研究班は、生理学的手法によりシナプス伝達機構を分析している研究者14名により構成され、3日間にわたる班会議を共同研究者と招待講演者も参加して、年1回(計2回)行い、各班員及び招待講演者による新知見の発表と活発な討論を行い、今後のシナプス伝達機構研究の展望が得られた。主な研究成果は以下の通りである。 1.シナプス前終末の伝達物質の開口放出に関与するCa^<2+>チャネルタイプが同定され、開口放出に関与するCa^<2+>は、Ca^<2+>チャネル開口部位のCa^<2+>であり、インパルスによ全終末内のCa^<2+>は非常に速い速度で処理され、これには細胞膜のNa/Ca交換やCaポンプやサプシガ-ギン感受性のCa^<2+>ポンプの関与が小さいことが解った(木島、立花、久場、赤池)。 2.種々のグルタミン酸受容体のサブユニットの構造とニューロンでの局在とシナプス後電位への関与、さらに長期増強や長期抑圧などのシナプスの可塑性への関与や生後発達過程での変化が海馬や小脳でのシナプスで明らかになった(小澤、高橋、平野、小野寺)。 3.代謝調節型受容体のG蛋白やそれにより活性化される酵素との構造活性連関、さらに種々の系により制御されるイオンチャネルのタイプやシナプス前抑制や前促進などの修飾作用が種々のニューロンで明らかになった(杉山、八尾、赤須、東、高橋)。 4.グリアのシナプス伝達に於ける多彩な役割が示唆され、シナプス形成過程に於ける制御因子がクローニングされた(工藤、城所)。
