高スピン有機分子及び磁性高分子の光励起状態におけるスピン整列の基礎的研究

研究概要	昨年度に生じたクライオスタットの温度不安定性の問題を解決し、1.5Kからの零磁場光検出磁気共鳴装置を完成した。標準試料として零磁場光検出磁気共鳴スペクトルが文献に報告されている試料であるベンゾフェノン単結晶の三重項励起子のスペクトルを観測し装置の性能テスト等を行い、今回自作した高感度積算可能なコンピュータ制御の装置が当初予定していた性能を示すことを確認した。さらに、安定多スピン系有機分子の最も基本的なものとして、三重項状態が既知であるナフタレンにニトロニルニトロキシドおよびニトロキシドをつけた分子を合成し、可視紫外吸収スペクトル、蛍光スペクトル、燐光スペクトルおよび零磁場光検出磁気共鳴スペクトルの測定をおこなった。ナフタレンにニトロニルニトロキシドをつけた分子とその分子性結晶では燐光を観測する事ができなかったので蛍光検出磁気共鳴を試みたがスペクトルを得ることに成功しなかった。これは、この系では1.5Kでもなを無輻射遷移が速い為と、励起2重項状態から励起4重項状態への項間交差の効率が極めて小さい為と考えられる。一方ナフタレンにニトロキシドをつけた分子では弱いながらも燐光が観測されている。現在この系にたいして零磁場光検出磁気共鳴の実験を行っている。また、磁性高分子の主鎖骨格にあたるカロテノイド等のポリエンについても零磁場光検出磁気共鳴の実験を進行中である。
