研究概要

本研究の目的である高いガス透過能及び血液適合性を併せもつ新規材料を創成するにあたって、1.高いガス透過性を有するモノマーの反応設計:2.得られたモノマーのイオン及びラジカル共重合による多成分系ポリマーの合成、3.表面組成制御および4.表面およびバルク組成と膜物性との相関が重要な調査課題になってくる。これらの目的を達成させるため以下のように研究を進めた。
1.高酸素親和性ポリマーの合成:a)酸素透過性の高い疎水性モノマー4-[ビス(トリメチルシリル)メチル]スチレン(BSMS)と2-ヒドロキシエチル(HEMA)とのランダム共重合体の合成 b)アニオンリビング重合によるBSMS-HEMAブロック共重合体の合成、により、任意のケイ素含有量の共重合体を調製した。
2.新規含ケイ素共重合体(特にブロック)表面のモルホロジー解析:上記2種類の方法で得られたコポリマーの表面モルホロジーを透過型電子顕微鏡を中心に観察し、相分離の確認を行った。
3.ガス透過能の評価:膨潤状態における酸素交換能を測定し、BSMS含有量10から30%のブロックポリマーにおいて極めて高いガス交換能を確認した。
4.血液適合性の評価:得られた高分子膜の血小板との相互作用を検討し、ガス交換能の高いBSMS含有量10〜30%の点での高い血液適合性を有することが示唆された。
