水素吸蔵合金/気相界面を反応場とする活性水素反応系の電気化学的構築

研究概要

平成8年度に得られた知見をまとめると以下のようになる。
1)水素吸蔵合金を用いる連続的なスチレンへの水素添加反応の電気化学的構築
パラジウム薄板電極の代わりにLaNi_5やMmNi_<2.4>Al_<0.5>Mn_<0.3>合金薄板を超急冷法により作製した。これらの合金薄板をカソードとして用いて水素発生反応を行い、生成した活性水素を合金内に優先的に吸蔵させた。そして、合金内に吸蔵された後、拡散して背面に到達した活性水素を用いて、スチレンからエチルベンゼンへの水素添加反応を行った。その結果、パラジウム薄板に比べて合金薄板の方が約10倍厚かったために水素添加反応速度は低かったものの、80時間以上も触媒活性が落ちることなく反応が進行することを見出した。
2)水素吸蔵金属を用いる他の連続的な水素添加反応の構築
1)で構築した連続的水素添加反応システムを用いて、スチレン以外の液体不飽和有機化合物であるα-メチルスチレン、1-オクテン、2-オクテン、シクロヘキセンの水素添加反応を行った。その結果、いずれの場合にも継続的に水素添加反応が進行し、クメン、オクタン、シクロヘキサンが副生成物である水素ガスとともに生成することを見出した。しかも、水素添加反応速度は、シクロヘキセン<2-オクテン<α-メチルスチレン<1-オクテン<スチレンの順に増大することが明らかになった。また、気体不飽和有機化合物であるアセチレンの水素添加反応も1)で構築したシステムを用いることにより連続的に進行し、エチレンを経てエタンが生成することを明らかにした。
