研究概要	近年、プローブ顕微鏡の開発・進歩に基づき、各部品を分子レベルで作製し組み立て、分子集合体のスケールで作動するインテリジェントマシン、分子機械を創成する研究が始まっている。本申請研究では、分子機械の部品となる新規のアクチュエーター(分子ピストン)を開発することを目的とし、外部電場によりポリオキシメチレン分子中の双極子モーメントを1方向に配向させ、ヘリックス・トランスコンホメーション転移を生じさせることで分子鎖長を変化させ、力を伝える分子アクチュエーターを創成することを試みた。ポリオキシメチレンのベンゼン溶液を水面上に展開・圧縮して調製した単分子膜を雲母基板上に1層移し取り、原子間力顕微鏡により単分子膜表面の形態を観察した。単分子膜を調製する際、展開溶液濃度、表面圧、圧縮速度、水相温度を変数とした。展開溶液濃度10^<-3>M、表面圧20mN/m、圧縮速度0.8mm/s、水相温度293Kにて形態学的に均一なポリオキシメチレン単分子膜が調製できることが明らかとなった。また、ポリオキシメチレン分子は単分子膜中で凝集し、配向していた。原子間力顕微鏡のカンチレバ-を用いて強い力で走査することにより、単分子膜中の多数のポリオキシメチレン分子をはぎ取り、走査領域内でポリオキシメチレンを孤立鎖とした。原子間力顕微鏡カンチレバ-と基板間に電場を印加し、ヘリックス・トランス転移によりポリオキシメチレン分子の伸縮挙動を評価する予定である。
