多様体間の写像とその特異点の大域的位相幾何の研究

研究概要	1.安定写像の特異点集合については、値域が曲面の場合に、滑層分解された集合としての完全な特徴付けをした。これはLevineの結果の一般化となっている。値域が3次元以上の場合は今後の研究課題である。 2.安定写像のStein分解については、値域が曲面の場合常に多面体になることを示し、更に各点での局所的な様子の完全な記述も与えた。値域が3次元以上の場合は今後の研究課題である。 3.写像の特異点の消去について: (1)値域が曲面の場合、定義域の微分同相類を変えず、写像を変えてStein分解を簡単にする操作を発見した。 (2)次元が2倍のユークリッド空間に埋め込まれた多様体を、1次元低いユークリッド空間に射影したときに現れる特異点の消去を、ホイットニ-アンブレラの符号で完全に記述した。 (3)多様体間の連続写像が位相的埋め込みにホモトピックになる(つまり位相的特異点を消去できる)ための障害額を定義し、そのボルディズム不変性を使って、射影空間上の写像についての応用を幾つか与えた。 4.安定写像を使った多様体の分解について: (1)値域が曲面の場合に、3.(1)によって簡単にされたStein分解を使って定義域多様体の自然な分解を考え、ある場合にその微分同相類の特徴付けを与えた。 (2)定義域が3次元の場合に、ある特殊な特異点のない安定写像があることと、定義域がグラフ多様体であることとの同値性を示し、そのような写像のある自然な同値類が、グラフ絡み目と対応することを示した。以上により、安定写像を使って多様体の大域的構造を調べるための理論が、かなり構築出来たと言える。
