研究概要

今年度は、300mレーザー干渉計の製作に必要な研究と開発を開始した。具体的な項目の進行状況と成果は次の通りである。
1.高出力LDを使い、ND:YAGでリングスレーブレーザーを作り、注入同時を行って、レーザーの安定化実験を開始した。さらに高出力化のために、新しい材質Nd:YLFを用いてリングレーザーを製作し、単一周波数発振を得た。
2.超低損失ミラーを試作し、現有の20m干渉計に組み込んで評価した。
3.20m干渉計用モードクリーナーを製作・評価し、実機設計への指針を得るとともに、干渉計制御のための変調側帯波透過実験を行った。
4.wave-front sensingの手法を用いた鏡のオートアライメント法を開発し、計算通りの性能が得られることを確認した。
5.リサイクリング実験用の高性能鏡を試作・開発するとともに、材料の基礎評価用装置を開発した。
6.懸架システムの防振特性を評価するとともにスタック防振装置の特性を測定し、超低周波防振のためにX-振り子を用いる2次元防振装置を開発した。
7.防振を考慮したモードクリーナー真空槽の製作並びに低ガス放出材料を用いた真空配管路(150m)を製作した。
8.観測法の確立とデータ取得法の開発のため、100m干渉計を使用した安定な長時間運転を行い、多チャンネルデータ同時モニタ・取得・制御システムを構築した。
9.連星中性子星の合体時に放出される重力波の数値シミュレーション並びにポストニュートニアン近似による理論的予測を行った。
次の年度は、レーザー光源の殆どの部分と真空システムの半分程度を完成させ、干渉計に必要な要素製作を進める一方で、最終目標達成のため現段階では未知の技術の開発に属する研究も進める計画である。
