タイおよびインドネシアにおけるツパイ類の系統進化学的研究

研究概要

平成10年7月,インドネシアで,同年8月と12月タイでツパイの調査・研究を行った。
ツパイ類の種間・属間の遺伝分化を定量するため、ミトコンドリアDNAのCOII(cytochrome oxidasesubunit II)領域の塩基配列を決定し,東南アジアのコモンツパイの遺伝的な多様性について、検索した結果,ラオス、タイ、スマトラの12地区で捕獲した58匹のコモンツパイのCOII DNA(684bps)の解析で38のタイプが明らかとなった。これらは南型と北型とに大別され、塩基配列による分岐によるこれらの違い(0.1994)は、ヒトとチンパンジーとの差(0.1054)より約2倍も大きかった。故に今回の成績は、マレー半島基部のクラ地峡(北緯10度)より北に分布するツパイをTupaia belangeri、南に分布するものをT.glisとした先人の形態学的および染色体数による分類を基本的には支持したが、両者をクラ地峡で分けることは支持できなかった。即ち、今回の成績はクラ地峡の南のHat Yai(北緯7度)周辺では北型と南型の両者が混在しており、北緯7度あたりが両者を分ける境界領域であるようだ。ミトコンドリアDNAは母からしか継承されないので、この遺伝子マーカーの地理的興味ある分布は交雑の結果かも知れないし、非対称性の遺伝子浸透を反映しているのかも知れない。この点を明らかにするためには血清蛋白や核DNAの様な性と関連するマーカーを用いた更なる研究が必要である。しかし,頭蓋の形態計測の結果,南型集団が北型のそれより有意に大きく,主成分分析でもこのことは裏付けられたが,主成分得点は南北両集団を明確に分離するまでには至らなかった.以上の成績はコモンツパイは遺伝的には明らかな地理的変異を示し,この変異は頭蓋の形態にまで発現しつつあるが,姉妹種であるかも知れないことを示唆した。
