研究概要

非晶質合金の変形挙動と超塑性発現条件とその特徴、超微細結晶粒合金の高速超塑性発現条件の探索と変形機構、微細分散複相合金の超塑性挙動と転位運動、粒界すべり、粒界構造・振る舞いと超塑性変形への寄与等について各種合金について調べた。非晶質合金の結晶化過程を利用して得た超微細粒合金は融点直下の変形において従来の超塑性とは異なり、高速で巨大な伸びを示すいわゆる高速超塑性を示す。この時、微細粒の粒界すべりが変形を担うことは勿論であるが、この粒界すべりで生じた応力の緩和が必要とされる。従来この緩和機構として点欠陥の拡散が支配的とされていたが、この条件下では一部結晶粒界は局部的に融解又は予融解状態にあり、このような粒界構造が応力緩和の付属調整機構として働く。また、この超塑性が高速変形の際に発現することを考えると、点欠陥の拡散のみによる物質移動では対応しきれず、結晶粒内の転位運動による変形が必要とされる。事実、粒内および微細粒析出物の近傍には大量の転位が存在し、これらが転位は予融解状態にある粒界において消滅し応力緩和する。また微細析出相は転位の増殖源であると共に、粒成長の抑制にも寄与し、変形中に微細結晶粒径が保たれ、粒界すべりを効果的に起こさせた。メカニカルアロイング合金についても同様の高速超塑性の発現が認められるが、この場合、変形前の粒界構造ならびに粒内強度が重要となり適正添加元素と加工熱処理を施すことにより高速超塑性が更に改善可能である。非晶質合金の変形挙動は著しい変形温度依存性を示した。低温では不均一変形を示すが結晶化温度直下の液体過冷温度領域で変形すると低い流動応力で変形し、超塑性を示した。このような超塑性は結晶材料とは異なり粘性流動によって起こることが明らかとなった。
