レーザMBE法による強誘電体/強磁性体傾斜機能材料の創成

研究概要

(1)ペロブスカイト構造を持つ機能性酸化物の中で、特に(強)誘電体、(強)磁性体に着目し、格子定数、熱膨張係数等のパラメータを考慮してヘテロ成長が期待される以下の組み合わせを選定した。選定材料は、誘電体;MTiO_3、磁性体;MMnO_3,MCoO_3(M=Ba,Sr,Ca,La etc.)である。
(2)レーザアブレーションを用いたMBE成膜法による傾斜構造の形成。先ず誘電体同士、磁性体同士の傾斜組成化を行い電気・磁気特性の評価を行った。例えば(Ba_<1-x>Sr_x)TiO_3で、数種類の組成(x)を傾斜層として組み合わせることにより、多段階のキュリー温度を持ち、広範囲な温度域で高い誘電特性を示す傾斜誘電材料が創成できた。
(3)傾斜構造成長過程の評価。傾斜構造形成中に反射電子線回折装置(RHEED)によるその場観察により、ペロブスカイト構造形成のメカニズムと傾斜構造の成長過程を調べた。
(4)計算化学による材料設計。パソコンを用いた分子動力学計算により、傾斜構造化に伴う最適結晶構造を予測した。
