研究概要	本研究では,次世代のデータベースシステムに要求されるさまざまな機能を満たし,その上で多様な処理を可能にするようなような新しい情報ベースモデルとその実現技術の構築を目視している.そこで,平成8年度は,高度応用のための情報ベースモデル,高機能処理アルゴリズムおよび高効率データ構造,高度情報ベース機能の高速処理方式の3つのテーマについて,従来のデータベースモデル・実装技術が抱える問題点の分析と,それらに対する可能な解決策の候補の列挙を行った. まず,次世代の情報ベースモデルについては,オブジェクト指向パラダイムの利点を損なうことなく,関係データベースの持つさまざまな機能を取り入れるための理論的基礎を得ることができた.今後は,問い合わせ最適化の基礎となる代数系の理論の構築や時間空間構造を柔軟に表現できるデータモデル,ワークフロー管理とバ-ジョン管理を統合するモデルなどの研究を行いたい. また,高機能処理アルゴリズムおよびデータ構造に関しては,大量のデータの中に隠れた論理的性質を抽出して知識を獲得したり,大量のデータの間の最適な組合せなどを求める処理について理論的な検討を行った.このような処理には,莫大な計算量が必要となるが,平成8年度にはこれを効率的に解くためのアルゴリズムがいくつか得られた.今後は,これらを改良して実用的規模の問題に適用することを目指す. さらに,分散メモリ型並列計算機上に配置されたオブジェクト間の相互参照を高速に処理する機構や,この種の計算機上で大規模なデータマイニングを行うアルゴリズムが得られた.今後は,それらの改良や高度な負荷制御機構の研究を行うとともに,分散メモリ型並列計算機による並列問い合わせ処理の研究を行う.
