研究概要

本研究では,次世代のデータベースシステムに要求されるさまざまな機能を満たしその上で多様な処理を可能にするようなような新しい情報ベースモデルとその実現技術を構築するために,高度応用のための情報ベースモデル,高機能処理アルゴリズムおよび高効率データ構造,高度情報ベース機能の高速処理方式の3つのテーマについて研究を行った.
まず,次世代の情報ベースモデルについては,位置や形状など空間的なデータと事物の発生消滅や存続期間など時間に関するデータを統合的に扱うことが不可欠であるので,これに適したデータ構造として正規化R^*-treeを開発した.また,論理指向の柔構造情報ベースを構築するためのスキーマ学習理論,オブジェクト指向データベースにおける一貫性制約検査機構,協調作業支援のためのトランザクションモデルの研究を行った.
高機能処理アルゴリズムおよび高効率データ構造に関しては,大量のデータに内在する性質を論理関数ととらえて知識発見を行う手法や,大量データから分類階層を伴う相関ルールを抽出する場合の並列処理方式,大規模テキストデータからの高速データマイニング,データベース上の最適化問題に対する組合せ論的解法の研究を行った.
高度情報ベース機能の高速処理方式については,分散メモリ型並列計算機上のオブジェクトを実行時に再配置することによって効率化を行う機構の改良を行った.また,高機能ディスクの概念をさらに進めた自律ディスクや更新の競合に強い並列索引構造,複合オブジェクト索引の並列検索の終了判定条件の研究を行った.
