研究概要	市川は、PBANを分泌する神経分泌細胞の活動を連続して記録することに成功し、日周リズム(昼高く、夜低い)を持つことを見い出した。また、岩見はボンビキシン遺伝子群の各遺伝子間のスペーサー領域(転写調節領域を含む)の全塩基配列を決定し、細胞特異的発現を調節していると思われるエレメントを推定した。相薗はPTTHの産生細胞がムスカリン性アセチルコリン受容体を発現していること、さらに脳-アラタ体器官培養系を用いて、アセチルコリンがPTTHA分泌を促進することを証明した。山下は環境温度による休眠ホルモン遺伝子の発現制御機構についてショウジョウバエへに休眠ホルモン遺伝子を導入し,解析を進めている。溝口はPTTH微量定量系を確立し、カイコ血液中のPTTH濃度の変動を詳細に解析し、PTTH濃度とそれに続くエクジステロイド濃度との間には相関が認められることなどを明らかにした。片岡は前胸腺に存在する分子量70kのPTTH受容体の同定を進め、その解離定数は54pMと極めて親和性が高いこと、5齢吐糸期の前胸腺には細胞1個あたり約16,000個存在していることを明らかにした。また、ボンビキシン受容体が中枢神経系や卵巣などに強く発現していることを示した。藤原は変態にともなうエクジソン受容体(EcR)遺伝子のアイソフォームの組織特異的な発現を解析し、2種類のアイソフォーム(A、B1)の発現パターンが成虫組織でAフォームが、幼虫組織でB1フォームが優勢であるという単純な発生運命には合致しないことを明らかにした。柳沼はカイコ卵から7種類のEcRアイソフォームをコードするcDNAをクローニングした。また、卵休眠の覚醒期に誘導されるソルビトール脱水素酵素遺伝子の5′-上流域にステロイドホルモン受容体ファミリーが認識結合する配列の存在を明らかにした。嶋田は休眠卵のみの初期胚に特異的に存在する、新規な2種類のmRNAを発現した。
