研究概要

本研究は,思考と情動を脳内各機能系の最高位の統合システムとみなし,その機能原理について生物学的および計算論的側面の両面から解明に取り組むものである。生物学的側面では,小野は,サル前部帯状回の各応答ニューロンの分布から,前部帯状回には吻側から尾側にかけて感覚刺激の認知および情動発現から行動実行に関与する一連の機能単位系が存在することを明らかにし,情動発現から行動遂行への変換における前部帯状回の役割をニューロンレベルで,澤口は,サル前頭葉には視空間記憶と行動選択の二つの過程に関与するニューロンが存在することを明らかにし,思考に中心的な役割を果たす中枢実行系における前頭葉の役割をニューロンレベルで明らかにした。岩田は,昨年度に開発したコンピュータによる合成顔写真を用いた相貌失認検査法を用い,相貌失認患者の弁別閾が健常人と有意に異なることを明らかにした。河村は,顔認知において感性(好き/嫌い)情報系と知性(既知/未知)情報系の2つの独立したシステムが存在することを,また,連合型物体失認は視知覚像と視覚性記憶像の照合障害で生ずることを明らかにした。計算論的側面では,倉田は,思考過程に重要な情報構造に基づいた情報表現(情報間の対応関係)を再現するため,自己組織多重脳マップにおいてクラスタ間に対応関係のあるモデルを構築した。森田は,思考や記憶再生過程における情報変換の原理を再現するため,複雑で長い時系列パターンを単純で短い時系列パターンへ変換するモデルを構築した。安西は,情動・思考過程における大脳皮質-辺縁系間の相互作用を解明するため,モルモット聴覚皮質-海馬体間の相互作用を光計測法を用いて記録し,光計測から得られたデータを用いて相互相関関係を解析する手法を確立した。今後も,第4班では情動・思考の生物学的な作動メカニズムを解明していくとともに,その計算論的な再現を目指す予定である。
