研究概要	[1]本研究課題にとって最も急務となる拠るべきテクストの問題とその言語の問題の検討作業を、第9期の成果を踏まえBeowulf,Chaucerを中心に関連作品も含めて進め、その成果をText and language:Beowulf,Chaucer and Related Works 2としてまとめ年度内公刊を予定する。研究成果は、また、日本英文学会第68回大会(5.24-25)で野口、松田、国際中英語学会第2回大会(ヘルシンキ大学5.29-6.1)で小倉、日本中世英語英文学会東支部研究発表会(川村学園女子大6.28)で高宮、松田、国際アーサー王学会第20回大会(エクセタ-大学9.19-21)で野口、日本英語学会第15回大会(東京都立大学11.23-24)で小倉、日本中世英語英文学会第13回大会(成城大学12.6-7)の松本司会の「発信型研究の可能性を求めて--写本を読む」、高宮司会の"Textual Problems of Malory's Morte Darthur"の2シンポジウムでそれぞれ松本・佐藤、野口・向井が、報告を行った。Prof.R.I.Page,Dr.T.C.Graham,佐藤、久保内寄稿の中世イギリス研究資料センター発行佐藤編Back to the Manuscripts(1997)も本研究課題の成果の報告となるものである。[2]A Variorum Edition of Beowulfは、作業を継続し、刊本テクストのパラレル化は2459行迄、原写本、Thorkelin転写本A,Bは2151行迄調査を完了した。原写本テクストの現地調査、閲覧許可の関係等で難航したため、双方の作業の完了した2151行迄について厳密なパラレル化の作業を進め、1-2151行を年度内公刊の予定。[3]『中世英語英文学研究業績リスト』については、アンケートの回答の脱落部分の補訂作業、無回答分の処理に予想以上の時間が必要となり、内外の要請に応えるリストとしての性格上、また年度内公刊の必要から補訂・改訂作業の比較的進んだ1994年3月まで分について公刊を予定する。
