研究概要

国内外の研究機関が行っているマルチメディア無線ネットワークの高速化、高信頼化のための空間・時間領域の信号処理ならびに、アクセス制御・トラヒック解析などのプロトコルに関する研究動向を調査した。次に、マルチメディア無線ネットワークの実用化が期待される応用分野で解決すべき問題を調査し、理論的な問題整理、その対策技術を検討した。具体的には、
(1)マルチメディア情報源のモデル化;音声、画像、コンピュータデータなどの異なるメディア情報が複合的に出力されるマルチメディア情報源を数学的に定式化、モデル化を行なった。
(2)マルチメディア通信品質の評価基準の導出;伝送速度、信号相関特性、プライオリティなど異なる各種情報メディアに固有な通信品質と共通な通信品質の評価基準を導出した。
(3)移動無線通信路の空間・時間特性のモデル化;アレーアンテナに基づく空間・時間領域における信号処理の解析や最適化の準備として移動無線通信路を指向性などの空間特性も考慮してモデル化を行なった。
(4)移動無線通信路における干渉・妨害、雑音、フェージングなどの定式化;移動無線通信路に共存する各種の干渉・妨害、雑音、フェージングなどの空間・時間的な影響を理論的に定式化を行なった。
(5)トラヒック解析に必要なマルチメディア無線ネットワークに固有な問題の抽出;待ち行列理論によるトラヒック解析を行う場合、占有帯域、パケット長、発呼率などの異なるマルチメディア情報が混在する無線ネットワークに固有な問題や拘束条件を整理し、最適化などの準備を行なった。
(6)マルチメディア情報源のメディア識別法に基づくユニバーサル圧縮方式の考案と性能解析;マルチメディア情報源の数学的モデル化に基づくメディア識別法の考案、算術符号化・LZW符号化の改良方式の考案と性能解析を行なった。
(7)アダプティブアレーアンテナを用いた空間・時間領域の最適送受信機の導出;アレーアンテナによる空間・時間領域のマッチドフィルタの導出と、送信機受信機の統合的な最適設計を行なった。
(8)アダプティブアレーアンテナを用いた空間・時間領域送受信機のための適応アルゴリズムの考案;アレーアンテナによる空間・時間領域の送信機受信機を前提とし、未知かつ時変の通信路に適応するためのアンテナ重み係数・フィルタ係数の適応アルゴリズムを考案した。
(9)アダプティブアレーアンテナを用いた空間・時間領域の通信路符号化の考案と最適化;アダプティブアレーアンテナを用いた空間・時間領域のパ-シャルレスポンス符号化とその最尤復号法を考案した。
(10)実験的解析;コンピュータ、通信路シミュレータを用いて、アダプティブアレーアンテナを含む空間・時間領域の信号処理を記述できる実験系を構築し、理論的に導出された各種の提案方式の性能を定量的に評価、解析した。
(11)総合評価と研究発表;上記(1)〜(10)に基づき、各種提案方式の特長と問題点を明確にし、次年度の研究課題として整理した。また、本研究を通じて得られた成果をまとめ、学会において報告した。
