精神疾患患者剖検脳におけるボルナ病ウイルス遺伝子の検索

研究概要

東京都監察医務院で剖検された31例のヒト剖検脳(前頭葉、側頭葉、海馬、嗅球)について、ボルナ病ウイルス(BDV)のp24遺伝子検索をnestedRT-PCR法により行った。この結果、2例が陽性を示した。1例では前頭葉、側頭葉、海馬で陽性であり、もう1例では前頭葉と嗅球が陽性であった。
精神疾患との関連が示唆されているボルナ病ウイルスの遺伝子が正常脳組織にも見出されるという新所見は、ボルナ病ウイルスがヒト脳組織に不顕性感染をおこしている可能性を示唆するものであり、新たな研究の展開が期待できる。
