研究概要

主要な成果はゼータ関数の平均値理論についてのものである。Dirichletの約数問題の残余頃△_<1-2σ>(x)と、Riemannゼータ関数の2乗平均の残余頃Eσ(T)(1/2【less than or equal】σ<1)との間のアナロジーを、Voronoi及びAtkinsonの公式を用いて追求し、Eσ(T)の精密な評価(Ivic-松本)、△(x)の積分の残余頃の挙動の詳細な解析(古屋-谷川)、ζ^2(S)の近似関数等式の残余頃の高次巾平均(木内-松本)などにおいて新しい結果を得た。またAtkinsonの方法のひとつの変形として、ここ数年来松本が桂田昌紀氏(鹿児島大)と共に展開している方法があり、とくにこの方法をHurwitzゼータ関数のパラメーターに関する2乗平均に適用して,J.AnderssonやW.-P.Zhangの結果(1992-94)をさらに改良した漸近展開式を証明した.これはKoksma-Lekkerkerker(1952)以来のこの問題にほぼ最終的な結着を与えるものである。さらに松本はBarnesの二重ゼータ関数を一般化したものに類似の方法を適用することで、パラメーターWに関する漸近展開式を示し、これによって実2次体のHeckeのL関数の1での値についての漸近公式をも証明した.平均値理論とはなれて、楕円L関数の零点の計算及び佐藤-Tate予想とRiemann予想との関係についての研究(秋山-谷川),2次形式及びGLnの数論的部分群についての代数的立場からの結果(北岡、鈴木),Gauss和との関連(伊藤)などに新知見を得た。
