低次元高密度励起子系における新しい相と光学応答

研究概要

@試料作成のための清浄真空層を作製し、気相成長法によりBiI_3単結晶の育成を行った。
@BiI_3結晶中の積層不整二次元界面に励起される擬二次元励起子系を対象に、共鳴光励起して高密度に生成し、空間分解分光法を適用して、以下の結果を得た。
1)モードロックNd : YAGレーザー励起ピコ秒色素レーザーを光源にして、ポンププローブ法で励起子遷移線のエネルギーシフトを観測した。励起光位置だけでなく、励起スポットから〜100μm以上離れた結晶面でのプローブスペクトルに、高密度効果によるブルーシフトが観測された。
2)多重に現れる励起子遷移の上の方の準位を1)と同じレーザー光で共鳴励起して、各共鳴発光の時間-空間分解スペクトルを測定した。発光スペクトルには顕著なブルーシフトが現れるが、スペクトル形状のうち、ローレンツ形状で現れる成分のシフトは、ほぼポラリトンの群速度で空間を伝播し、コヒーレントな伝播を特徴づけた。一方、発光線の重心のシフトは、それよりも1/4ほど遅い伝播速度を示し、高密度励起子間の衝突による拡散的伝播の特性を示した。
3) 1)と同じレーザー光源を用いて、この励起子順位を共鳴励起し、2光束法による縮退四光波混合信号を観測した。空間的に隔たった領域で、励起子強度に依存して、コヒーレントな分極波の伝播による四光波信号を検出した。この現象は、短時間域での励起子のコヒーレントな多体効果発現と関連が深く、新しい光励起状態の相形成機構の解明の手がかりを得た。
4)電子-正孔BCS状態の理論的定式化を行い、レーザー励起されている非熱平衡トンネル系の近接効果による輸送現象への影響を明らかにし、実験で得られた結果との対比を試みた。
