多年草における閉鎖花生産の進化に関する理論的実験的研究

研究概要	閉鎖花の意義は、主に一年草を対象に解析されてきた。しかしその意義が、単純に多年草にも当てはまるかどうかは分からない。なぜなら多年草では、閉鎖花生産のための資源を翌年へ貯蔵して、翌年の開放花生産に回すことができるからである。そこで、多年草における閉鎖花の意義を明らかにするために、センリョウ科の多年草フタリシズカを材料とし、開放花、閉鎖花、貯蔵への資源分配を調べた。その結果、開放花数は前年までの大きさに、閉鎖花数は当年の稼ぎに依存していることが推測された。また、当年の閉鎖花数が多いほど翌年への貯蔵量も増加した。これらの結果から、当年の稼ぎが多いほど、当年の閉鎖花数と翌年の開放花数が増加することが推測された。種子の散布効率は、種子数が少ないほど良いことが分かった。また貯蔵量に対して、翌年の地上部の大きさと開放花数は頭打ちの増加を示した。つまり、当年に稼いだ資源を全て貯蔵しても、貯蔵量の増加に対して翌年の光合成量と開放花数の増加はそれほど見込めず、さらに開放花数の増加に対して散布効率は低下することが示唆された。従って多年草フタリシズカの閉鎖花の意義は、当年に稼いだ資源である程度閉鎖花を生産し、資源を効率よく使うことと散布効率を高めることであると推測された。
