研究概要

分子の集積組織化が精密設計され、得られた集積組織体について制御された機能発現が下記のように行われた。
[岩村秀]有機フリーラジカルのスピンを、磁性金属イオンを介して集積組織化し、錯体磁石を構築した。(1)T字形トリラジカルとMn(II)イオンとから磁気相転移温度46Kの磁石が得られ、その結晶および分子構造は、シンジオタクティックな1次元鎖が井桁状に架橋した3次元であった。(2)ジ(4-ピリジル)ジアゾメタンとCu(II)イオンとから1次元鎖状錯体を得た。この希薄常磁性体に紫外線照射を行うと、生成したカルベンがCu(II)と強磁性的に相互作用し、3Kでは相関距離が伸び超高スピン鎖(S=34.5)となった。
[青山安宏]カラムを形成する機能性芳香環部位と水素結合面を形成する発散型の相互作用部位を直交させたアントラセン-ビスレゾルシン誘導体を設計・合成した。これらの結晶内には、「ゲスト包接能・触媒能を有する空孔」を人為的に構築できる。すなわち、取り込まれたアクロレインとシクロヘキサンジオール等のゲスト分子は、空孔内でディールス・アルダー反応やエン反応などを立体選択的に、かつ触媒的に行うことを明らかにした。このような触媒作用は、多孔質の無機結晶であるゼオライト類似であり、有機結晶では初めてである。
[稲津孝彦]4個の窒素原子が6個のメチレン鎖で架橋されたウロトピンでは、全ての窒素原子上の非共有電子対が分子の中心から外側に向かって配向しているのとは全く対照的に、四面体の頂点に窒素原子を配し、それぞれをエチレン鎖で繋いだ三環式カゴ型化合物“ヘキサエチレンテトラミン"においては、橋頭位窒素原子上の全ての非共有電子対が分子の中心に配向した、超高電子密度分子内空孔を有しC_3対称をもつ美しい分子である。今回、ここ30年来のターゲット化合物の合成に成功し、プロトンクリプテートであることが明かとなった。
[梶山千里](1)多段階クリープ法により、均一な水面上フラーレンC_<60>単分子膜の調製とその基板への累積に成功した。単分子膜の電子線解折像は、C_<60>分子が二次元的に六方最密充填していることを示した。(2)n-C_<18>H_<37>SiCl_3(OTS)単分子膜を水面上で重合させ、シリコンウエハ-基板上に移し取った。この単分子膜のOTS分子の疎水基末端メチル基の配列を示す分子イメージを、高分解能原子間力顕微鏡で観察した。高速フーリエ変換(FFT)像は二次元六方晶を示した。さらにOTS単分子膜の二次元結晶構造内に存在する点(分子)欠陥の観察に成功した。
[国武豊喜]相補的水素結合を必須構造要素とする超分子組織を、非極性有機媒体中で形成させるための分子設計・合成を行った。親媒部として各種アルキル鎖及びオレイル鎖を有するイソシアヌル酸誘導体を合成し、メラミンのアルキル誘導体との相補的水素結合複合体を調製した。オレイル鎖を有するイソシアヌル酸誘導体の複合体は、メチルシクロヘキサン中に分散でき、ファイバー状の分子組織体を与えることを電子顕微鏡観察より確認した。さらにNMR法により、相転移温度を有する超分子組織体であることを明らかにした。
[新海征治]溶液中の会合形態におけるポルフィリンの配向を吸収スペクトルや蛍光スペクトルを用いて調べることにより、ボロン酸基を持つポルフィリン類が糖分子と錯形成する際に、(1)二分子間のキラル配向、(2)多分子集合体における超分子構造の配向、(3)蛍光スペクトル変化、(4)糖の絶対構造を反映する円二色性スペクトルの発現などを行うことを明らかにした。すなわち、ボロン酸から糖質を見れば「糖質のセンシング」が、糖質からボロン酸を見れば「ポルフィリンの超分子配向」が可能である。
[成田吉徳]新しい分子変換能を持つ金属錯体配列体の合成を目的として、鉄-有機活性基、鉄二核、鉄-銅、マンガン二核ポルフィリン錯体を合成し、酸素分子活性化、水の4電子酸化を行う金属酵素の活性中間体の合成を行った。特に、還元型鉄-銅二核錯体は酸素分子と室温で安定なペルオキシ型錯体を形成することを発見し、チトクロームcオキシターゼにおける酸素活性化機構の解明及び酸素活性化による酸化反応設計に大きな前進を見た。マンガンポルフィリン2量体を用いた水の酸化反応の活性中間体を選択的に合成することにも成功した。
