夏雪型氷河の縮小加速の検証と将来予測

研究概要

本計画の最終年度(第3年度)にあたり、下記の研究を実施し、次のような成果が得られた。
1.氷河変動の地上観測
当初からの観測項目の再側を、クンブ地域のクンブ氷河、ランタン地域のリルン氷河、ヒドンバレー地域、ショロン地域、ブータンで行い、各地で氷河縮小が観測された。なかでも、下流部がデブリ(瓦礫)に覆われた大型のクンブ氷河やリルン氷河では、氷河の厚さが毎年当り1〜2m減少していた。
2.氷河気候の自動観測
前回からのデータ回収を、クンブ地域、ヒドンバレー地域、ショロン地域、ブータンで行い、おおむね記録が取れていた。
3.氷河変動モデルのパラメータ観測
氷河の厚さをリルン氷河、クンブ氷河でアイスレーダーにより測定し、厚いデブリに覆われた下流部での測定に成功した。またデブリが氷河融解に与える影響を研究するための熱収支の観測をクンブ氷河で行い、融解の熱収支特性が明らかになった。
4.航空写真・衛星画像、気象・水文資料の収集・解析
これまでの資料の整理と解析のまとめを行った。
5.研究のまとめ
氷河変動予測モデルの開発、データ・レポート(英文)の編集、研究成果報告書(英文)の作成を行った。
