界面/微構造レベル空間での新炭素材料の創出

研究概要	炭化物の酸化過程に生成する炭素層の制御とその生成機構を検討して、Si-C-O、Zr-C-O系の金属-炭素-酸素の非平衡相図を作成した。これによりZrC中における炭素膜の生成機構を説明できた。界面制御あるいは組織制御を行って作製したC/C複合材料の最適な力学的特性評価方法の検討を行った。その結果、C/C特有の層間セン断破壊をさける試験方法を開発し、長繊維系複合材料の破壊力学的な定量化をすることができた。ヘテロアトムのアロイングの一つとして銅を選び、炭素材料の高温熱伝導率の向上に成功し、これにイオン照射を行って熱伝導率の変化について検討した。又、二重構造のピッチ系炭素繊維が小さい損傷効果を示すことを明らかにした。黒鉛の層状結晶と類似のBNを用いて複合材料を作製し、炭素の耐酸化性の向上を計るとともに、独自に開発したモード別破壊エネルギー評価法を適用し、その有効性を示した。又、力学的特性の向上をめざして組織制御と界面制御の手法の開発にも成功した。カーボンのアロイングによる特性制御のサイトとして黒鉛結晶の配列すなわち組織ならびに界面を選び、ヨウ素になるピッチの電荷移動錯体やフラン樹脂への超音波の照射あるいは表面官能基の導入を行った。流れ組織を呈するピッチを前駆体とする炭素はヨウ素の導入により等方性モザイク組織へと移行し炭素収率を50%から一気に90%以上に上げることに成功した。また、超音波の照射によりフラン樹脂の重合過程を均一且つ迅速に行うことを可能にし、その結果、縮重合の結果生ずる重縮合水の除去を容易とし、これまで3mm以上の厚さのガラス状カーボンは亀裂が入ったり大きな気孔が入ってしまったものが、1cmでも均一なガラス状炭素を得ることに成功した。
