研究概要	21世紀に向けて地球に優しく安全で快適な生活を維持できる人間活動および生産活動を創生するためには、環境への排出、すなわちエミッションをできるだけゼロに近づける社会・産業・生産システムが構築されなければならない。わが国における物質の流れと利用量の現状を明らかにした上で、適当な規模の人間活動・生産活動を維持しながら資源・エネルギーの消費量と環境への汚濁負荷をどこまで削減することが可能かを検討し、ゼロエミッションをめざした新たな物質環境プロセスを構築することが必要である。そこで本領域では、A-01班:個々の生産プロセスにおける現状の物質フローの解析と、それに基づくゼロエミッション化の検討、A-02班:業種を越えた生産プロセスのネットワーク形成によるゼロエミッション化の検討、A-03班:モデル地域における物質循環を記述する数理モデルの構築とそれを用いたゼロエミッション化の評価と予測、に関する計画研究を実施するとともに、関連する研究を開始した。本総括班は、本重点領域で行われているすべての研究を統括し、上記の目的を達成するための指針を示すとともに、最終的にさらなる成果が得られ社会に還元されるために、研究者相互の情報の交換、共有等を支援することを開始した。本年度は重点領域発足の初年度であったが、以下のような研究推進のための活動を行った。 1.全体会議の開催、2.総括班会議の開催、3.中間発表会の開催、4.最終成果報告会の開催、5.関連研究活動との連携、6.報告書の刊行、7.ホームページの開設と運営総括班ホームページアドレス:http://envchem.iis.u-tokyo.ac.jp/ZeroEm/
