研究概要	1.佐藤は葉緑体DNA結合蛋白質(CND41)低蓄積形質転換タバコ培養細胞を作成し、CND41が葉緑体遺伝子の発現制御に機能している可能性を明らかとした。また、精製したCND41がDNA結合性のみならずprotease活性をもつことを明らかとした。2.杉田はタバコ葉緑体のATP合成酵素遺伝子atpIがNC IIプロモーターから転写されることを見出した。また、NC IIプロモーターからの転写を行うプロプラスチドのinvitro転写系を確立した。葉緑体形質転換法を用いて、タバコ葉緑体DNAコードのsprA遺伝子をノックアウトしたタバコを作出した。3.小俣はシアナーゼ遺伝子(cynS)を破壊したラン藻変異株の解析から、ラン藻では室素同化の副産物であるシアン酸が炭酸同化に関連する種々の遺伝子を活性化することを明らかにした。また、窒素欠乏によるcynSの発現誘導から、シアナーゼの生理機能は、窒素過剰のシグナルであるシアン酸の蓄積を窒素欠乏時に阻止することにある、と推定した。4.長谷はトウモロコシを材料に、光合成、非光合成組織での電子分配にかかわるフェレドキシン(Fd)として、硝酸誘導型Fdおよび維管束鞘細胞特異的Fdの新分子種を見い出し、各種の組換え改変分子種を用いて電子伝達特性を明らかにした。また、ラン藻をモデル細胞としたFd欠失変異株を作出し、これら高等植物由来のFdの電子分配活性をinvivoで評価できる系を確立した。5.西村はマイクロボディ酵素のcDNAクローニング、その構造解析等から、マイクロボディの機能転換がこれら酵素遺伝子の転写ならびに転写後調節によることを明らかにした。形質転換植物をもちいて、マイクロボディへの移行シグナルを解析し、機能の異なるマイクロボディでも移行シグナルには違いがなく、移行シグナルの違いによるマイクロボディの分化は起きていないことを明らかとした。
