研究概要

5月11日に総括班幹事会を本年度の活動方針を決定した。ニュースレターを年回発行し、班員名簿及び年度末に報告書をを作製する。コンファランス、公開シンポジウム及び若手研究者を中心のワークショップを年一回開催する。今年度は、特に本特定領域研究が行われて2年目になるので、中間報告会(10月20日)が文部省で行われるのでその資料の作成をする。名簿を6月、ニュースレターは8月、12月、3月(予定)に各々予定通り発行された。公開シンポジウムは「多次」(代表者稲垣冬彦都臨床研)と合同で6月3日に東大山上会館で"蛋白質の高次構造と遺伝子情報の遺伝経路"のタイトルの下に開催された。昨年度は発生を中心とする研究グループとの合同シンポジウムで、今年度は構造を中心とする研究グループとの合同シンポジウムで、今年度は若手を中心に150名を越えていた。大変好評で、活発な議論のみでなく、実際に共同研究に発展したものもある。関連領域の合同シンポジウムは、単に議論の場としてのみでなく、実際に共同研究に発展したものもある。関連領域の合同シンポジウムは、単に議論の場としてのみでなく、研究を進めていく上にも有意義であることを改めて認識した。コンファランスは9月16日〜18日まで東レ研修所で開かれた。分担者以外に若手の同伴者を含めて、約名の参加があり、活発な討論に終始した。10月20日に本特定領域の中間報告が行われ領域代表藤井と石井、山本が出席した。本重点が始まって1.5年間の研究をまとめたところ全体で431論文が発表され、多くが国際的に評価の高い学術誌の発表され、研究の進展状況は大変良いと思われる。若手研究者を育成するために平成11年1月11日〜13日まで湯沢ニューオータニで若手冬のワークショップが開かれた。総括班は、会場費と宿泊費及び話題提供者の交通費の一部を支援した。50数名の参加者があり、午後はスキーを楽しみながら、午前と夜はインフォーマルな雰囲気で大変活発な討論がなされた。今年度の研究報告書は3月中に発行される。
