研究概要	エビスグサ(Cassia tora)はAl耐性植物として知られている。エビスグサを50μM AlCl_3(pH4.5)で処理すると、4時間のlagの後、クエン酸が分泌され、クエン酸の分泌量はAl処理濃度に比例して増加した。クエン酸の分泌はAlに対して特異的であった。酸性土壌でよく生育するアジサイ葉の新鮮重1Kgに15.7mmolのAlが含まれており、その3分の2は細胞溶液中に認められた。そこで生葉および細胞抽出液を^<27>Al-NMRで分析した結果、Al-クエン酸複合体(1:3)のシグナルと一致した。アジサイ葉中の細胞抽出液から純化したAl:クエン酸複合体と同量のAl^<3+>を用いてトウモロコシ根の伸長に対する影響を調べた。その結果、20μM AlCl_3は50%の伸長阻害を示したが、20μMのAlを含む純化したAl:クエン酸複合体は全然阻害しなかった。ソバの一種はAlに対して強い耐性を示し、50μM AlCl_3(pH4.5)でも生育阻害を受けなかった。分泌物を調べた結果、ソバは蓚酸を分泌することを認めた。葉中のAlの分布を調べた結果、Alの90%が細胞溶液中に存在し、濃度は2.03mMであった。次に葉中のAlの存在形態を生葉および細胞抽出溶液を^<27>Al-NMRで調べた。Alは有機酸と結合し、その主要な有機酸は蓚酸であり50mM含まれていた。対数増殖期のタバコ培養細胞をAlとFe^<2+>で処理すると細胞中にAlの蓄積、脂質の過酸化、viavilityの低下が処理後8時間でほぼ同時に起こることが認められたが、鉄の蓄積は数時間の遅れで認められた。脂溶性の抗酸化剤である、N、N'-diphenyl-p-phenylenediamin buthylated hydroxyanisol、prophyl gallateはAlとFe^<2+>によって引き起こされる上記の現象の発現を抑えた。
