研究概要

金属-金属結合を持つクラスター化合物は、不均一系触媒(金属、金属酸化物等)のモデル化合物として、また、新たな均一系触媒として注目を集めている。特に、異種金属を含む2〜4核錯体(小クラスター分子)の化学は、二種の元素が協同して単核金属中心では起こり得ない新しい反応を促進する可能性、あるいは、二種の異なった機能・性質が融合されて新しい物性を生ずる可能性を持つことから、新しい化学の開拓において非常に期待の大きい分野である。本研究では均一系クラスター化合物の多核化とは異なる考え方に基づき、種々の同種・異種金属三核錯体を有機連結配位子を用いて様々な配向性を持たせながら高次化することによりバンド構造により近い電子状態を持つ複合材料を開発しようとするものである。本研究では、金属-金属結合を持つ新規クラスターユニットの創出とその配向集積化を行い、遷移金属クラスターをナノ単位とする多機能性複合材料の開発を目指した。
1 三座ホスフィンを支持配位子とする非常に多彩な同種・異種金属二核及び三核錯体を合成し、その構造及び基礎的物性を明らかにした。また、白金三核錯体[Pt_3(dpmp)_2(RNC)_2]^2+(1)の有機小分子との反応を試み、多金属中心が協同的に機能する新規触媒反応の開発に着手した。
2 一次元のクラスター集積化を行うためには、末端イソシアニド軸配位子の交換反応が非常に重要となる。そこで、軸配位子交換の可能性を調べる目的で、三核錯体linear-[Pt_3(dpmp)_2(XylNC)_2](PF_6)_2(1)と種々のイソシアニド及びビスイソシアニドとの反応を試み、末端配位子が置換された直鎖状三核錯体及び三核錯体の二量体等を合成し、その物性・反応性について検討を行った。
3 ビスイソシアニドを用い直鎖状白金三核ユニットの一次元集積化を行った。得られたクラスターポリマーの一つについてはX線結晶構造解析でその詳細な構造を明らかにし、また、溶存状態における構造についても種々の分析手法により検討を行っている。本研究で開発したクラスターポリマーの合成法は、界面構造規制された分子デバイスの開発に有効であり、今後、クラスターをナノ単位とする分子デバイスの開発に応用する予定である。
