超臨界二酸化炭素中における金属ポルフィリン生成反応機構の解明

研究概要

金属ポリフィリン錯体の生成機構に関するアセトニトリル中における我々の研究から、その反応の過渡過程にポルフィリンがピロレニン窒素で金属イオンに配置したSitting-Atop錯体が存在することが明らかになった。これは、アセトニトリルの低塩基性に由来するものであり、本研究は、アセトニトリルと同様に塩基性の低い溶媒である超臨界二酸化炭素中において、金属ポルフィリン生成反応の速度論的研究を行うことを目的とした。
まず、この目的に適した金属イオン源およびポルフィリンの探索を、可視・紫外吸収スペクトルの測定により行った。超臨界二酸化炭素流体溶液の可視・紫外吸収スペクトルの測定は、研究代表者の所属する研究室で開発した専用セルを用いて行った。超臨界二酸化炭素中への金属錯体の溶解度は、近年、数多くの研究が行われており、溶解度データの集積が進んでいる。それらを踏まえた上で、これまでに溶解度測定が行われていなかった、コバルト( )およびニケッル( )イオンの2,2,6,6-テトラメチル-3,5-ヘプタンジオナト錯体の溶解度を決定した。いずれの錯体についても、1〜2mMの溶解度であることが明らかになった。一方、ポルフィリンの超臨界二酸化炭素への溶解度に関する研究は非常に限られており、幾つかのテトラフェニルポルフィリンについて調べられているのみであった。多くの有機化合物の溶解度データによると、フェニル置換基は溶解度を低下させ、アルキル置換基は溶解度を増加させる傾向があるため、本研究では2,3,7,8,12,13,17,18-オクタエチルポルフィリン(OEP)を用いた。その結果、リン酸トリブチル(TBP)を共存させることで、反応を追跡するのに十分な溶解度が得られることが明らかになった。
以上の研究結果から、TBPが共存する超臨界二酸化炭素中において、OEPとCu( )イオンのβ-ジケトナト錯体との反応を可視・紫外吸収スペクトルを測定して追跡した。この反応の生成物は、Cu(( )イオンがOEPに挿入したメタロポルフィリンであり、超臨界二酸化炭素中において、初めて金属イオンが関与する化学反応の動的過程を観測することに成功した。本研究の成果から、超臨界二酸化炭素の温度・圧力・密度に対する反応速度の依存性や、メタレーション反応に及ぼすTBPの影響を解析することが可能となった。
