研究概要

昨年度(平成13年度)の成果にもとづき、"高次機能調和材料"として具体的に以下に示す材料開発を行い、又、それを実現するためのプロセッシングの開発を行った。研究体制は、生体指向高感度センサ・メモリ材料開発グループ、エネルギー・環境調和材料開発グループ、極微プロセッシンググループの3グループから構成されている。
1:〔生体指向高感度センサ・メモリ材料〕
これまでの光/磁性/誘電体機能調和材料のマテリアルデザイン、中赤外光応答希薄磁性半導体多層構造・ワイドギャップ磁性半導体の創製、シリコン表面上のバイオ分子ドットアレイの開発などの成果を更に発展させて、生体指向高感度デバイスへ展開するためのマテリアル・デバイスのデザイン、材料創製、特性評価、デバイス作製の研究を進めた。
1)光/磁性機能調和材料のデバイス化を進めた(川合)。
2)半導体をベースにしたマルチイオンイメージセンサ及びエリプソメトリセンシング手法を駆使したバイオ化学情報の2次元可視化・バイオチップへの展開をはかった(岩崎)。
3)多結晶GaNによる紫外センサ・電界放射電子源、多結晶GaN/磁性酸化物新機能デバイス、磁性半導体GaCrN, GaMnNによるスピン機能デバイスの開発を目指した材料高性能化、デバイス作製の研究を行った(朝日)。
4)第一原理計算に基づいて、光誘起やFET電場誘起、また円偏光レーザー発光によるスピングラス状態からハーフメタル透明半導体強磁性体への転移を起こすマテリアルをデザインし、これを用いた脳型メモリや脳型演算装置などの機能調和材料デバイスのデザインを行った(吉田)。
2:〔エネルギー・環境調和材料〕
21世紀の環境・食糧問題を解決するためのひとつの方策として、人工光合成材料の開発とエネルギーの高効率的利用法の探求を行った。光合成材料は、光吸収、電子伝達、酸化還元反応などの機能が組み合わされ、調和することによって生まれる見事な人と環境にやさしい"高次機能調和材料"であり、この光合成材料の開発と光電荷分離・輸送系、変換エネルギーの利用系の構築、並びに有機金属を活用したエネルギーを効率的に利用する環境に優しい材料合成法の開発を目指した。
1)らせんキラルな有機金属高分子の光および電気的機能を探索した(高橋)。
2)DNAの光増感電子移動反応によるDNAのラジカルカチオンおよびラジカルアニオンの生成の効率化について検討した(真嶋)。
3)異物排出タンパクのX線結晶構造に基づき、部位特異的変異導入を系統的に行って異物認識機構と膜輸送機構を解明、阻害剤の分子設計をした(山口)。
4)環境調和プロセスの開発を目的に、表面を機能化したミセル形状ナノ粒子不斉触媒やナノ金粒子の創成を試みた(笹井)。
3:〔極微プロセッシング〕
本グループでは高次機能調和型センサ・メモリの開発のため、半導体表面の無欠陥・完全化を行い、表面上の特定原子種の選択除去によるナノスケール・パターンニング加工法を確立し、超高密度磁気メモリ用FePt規則合金ナノ粒子および相変態型Ge-Sb-Te光メモリ膜の電子線ナノ構造解析による構造制御法を確立することを目的とした。
1)波長可変レーザー光照射による半導体表面原子のボンド切断の支配要因を解明し、Si(001)-(2x1)表面からの表面ダイマー層の選択的除去による完全化、InP表面から非金属原子のみを選択的に原子層レベルで除去する為の研究を行った(谷村)。
2)二次元方位配向させた5nm以下のサイズのFePt規則合金ナノ粒子の規則度ならびに、相変態型Ge-Sb-Teアモルファス・メモリ薄膜材料の局所構造を、極微細電子線構造解析法により調べ、これらの構造制御へのフィードバックを行った(弘津)。
