研究概要	東南アジア地域におけるHIVおよび肝炎ウイルス感染症の現状に関する疫学的調査研究とその分子疫学的解析を行い、次の成果を得た。 (1)ベトナム北部・ミャンマー中部のHIV流行に関する分子疫学的研究これまで,ベトナムにおけるHIV流行は,ホーチミン市を中心とするベトナム南部地域に限定されていたが,1996年末から1997年以降、中国国境に近い北部ベトナムの注射薬物乱用者(IDU)の間で,HIV-1感染の複数の急激なアウトブレークが発生している。このアウトブレークの原因となっているウイルス流行株に関する分子疫学的解析を行った結果,この地域に流布するケイルスが隣接する中国南部広西省チワン族自治区のピンシャンに分布するHIV-1サブタイプEに極めて近い構造的特徴をもっていて,同一起源のウイルスと推定できることを明らかにした。また,ミャンマー中部で,これまでわれわれが報告していたHIV-1サブタイプEとB'の他に,新たに隣接する中国雲南省に分布するHIV-1サブタイプCと関連性の高いサブタイプC型ウイルスが流布していることを見い出した。これらの解析結果は,東南アジア地域の流行と隣接する中国における新興流行との密接な関連性を示唆するもので,これら地域全体での流行の成り立ちを考える上で,重要な知見と考えられる。 (2)アジア地域におけるG型肝炎ウイルスの分子疫学的解析世界各国におけるG型肝炎ウイルス(HGV)の分子疫学調査から、従来のゲノタイプ分類には属さない新たなHGV株をミャンマー人とベトナム人患者血清から分離し、ゲノタイプ4型と命名した。さらに、ミャンマーとベトナム由来でゲノタイプ4型を示すHGV2株を選択し、8529bpからなる全長鎖ゲノムの塩基配列を決定した。HGV4型は、ミャンマーとベトナムにおいて高率に感染者が存在した。恐らく4型株は東南アジアに広く分布する流行株であることが推察される。さらに、HGV1型〜4型に対するタイプ特異的なプライマーをデザインし、PCR法による簡便なHGVゲノタイピング法を確立した。
