研究概要

気候システムの長期変動を研究するCLIVAR計画の立案に関係して、花輪教授はカナダで行われたWOCEの研究集会に参加し情報を収集した。中島教授は2000年に出版予定のIPCC2000の編集方針の打ち合わせのためにジュネーブに出張した。小池助教授は、ボルダーで開かれたGEWEXの水文パネルに出かけCEOPという2000年以降の新しい国際協同研究計画のとりまとめに中心的な役割を果たした。住は西安で開かれたアジアモンスーンに関する国際研究集会に参加し、今後は、日・中・韓の三ヶ国で東アジアモンスーンの国際協同研究を推進することに合意した。今脇教授はWOCEのデータ取りまとめについて議論した。木本助教授は気候モデルの将来について討議を行った。田中教授は名古屋でSPAC-SSGを開催し、成層圏の気候の及ぼす役割について討議した。山岬教授はGCSSに参加hし、雲の取り扱いに関して、知見を得た。安成・小池教授はGEWEX-SSGに参加し、今後のGEWEXの進め方について議論した。住 明正はハワイで熱赤道の大気・海洋力学について議論した。
