研究概要	本研究は、第一級の国際的な研究者による共同研究のもとに、細胞周期を統御する細胞内シグナル伝達系を、細胞周期制御因子とチロシンリン酸化を介する増殖シグナル伝達因子に焦点を当て、これら因子の多様な変異遺伝子を用いて解析する事を目的として立案された。近年の研究から、細胞の増殖を制御する細胞内シグナル伝達系の詳細が明らかになりつつある。一方、細胞の増殖は、細胞周期と呼ばれる経時的に統御されたシステムによって制御されており、この細胞周期はcdc,cdk等の細胞の増殖に対し負の制御能を持つ因子の支配を受ける事が共同研究者のデュッタらによって明らかにされつつある。研究代表者の浜口は、Srcキナーゼがカドヘリン依存細胞接着系を制御することを明らかにした。本年は、この結果を発展させ、カドヘリン依存細胞接着系が、Ras-MAPキナーゼ系の増殖刺激伝達系とは独立しているが競合的な増殖抑制のシグナル伝達系を持つこと、この増殖抑制シグナル伝達系の活性化により細胞はG0/G1期で増殖を停止することを明らかにした。
