研究概要

地震・台風・ハリケーン・竜巻等の環境下における空間構造(シェル構造、スペースフレーム、膜構造等)の日米における研究状況をレビューし、静的及び動的挙動に関する共同研究を実施した。本年度は、調査研究実施計画に基づき、以下のような調査研究を行った。
l 平成10年7月に半谷裕彦(旧研究代表者)が米国を訪問し、米国側研究分担者であるP.L.Gould教授及びS.Sridharan教授と本研究の企画、運営について協議した。同時に、空間構造に関する研究動向を調査した。
2 平成10年10月にP.L.Gould教授とS.Sridharan教授を招聘し、日本においてミーティング(合同研究会)を開催した。このミーティングでは研究代表者及び分担者が各分野のレビュー及び研究を発表し、比較、検討を行った。同時にレビューをレポートとして作成し、次年度以降への基礎資料とした。それを基に、次年度以降の調査、研究を計画、立案した。
3 平成11年3月にN.C.Gould大学院生を招聘し、日本において、空間構造に関する研究調査を行った。特に、他の複数の研究機関を見学する機会をもち、本研究における最近の研究動向について情報交換を行った。
また、研究会を開催し、研究発表ならびにディスカッションを行った。
