シクロブタジエン型テトラカルコゲニド四核錯体の合成と化学的性質の解明

研究概要

近年、我々は架橋のSH基をもつロジウム二核錯体[(RhCp^*)_2(μ-CH_2)_2(μ-SH)](BPh_4)(Cp^*=η^5-C_5Me_5)が、過剰のH_2S存在下、O_2と反応して、長方形のS_4をもつ[{(RhCp^*)_2(μ-CH_2)_2}_2(μ_4-S_4)](BPh_4)_2を選択的に生成することを見出した。本年度は、[(RhCp^*)_2(μ-CH_2)_2Cl_2]とH_2Seとの反応で[(RhCp^*)_2(μ-CH_2)_2(μ-SeH)](BPh_4)(1)を合成し、これを用いて対応するμ_4-Se_4錯体を得ることを試みた。
μ-SH錯体の場合と異なり、1は二種類の生成物を与えた。一つは、Se_2配位子をもつ[{(Cp^*Rh)_2(μ-CH_2)_2}_2(μ-Se_2)](BPh_4)_2(2)であり、他のものは、現在、X線解析で、構造を確認しているところである。μ-Se_2は、Se間に単結合(2.3875(5)Å)を有する。そしてそれは、二つのRh-Rh結合(2.6353(5)Å)に対して平行に配置し、珍しいside onのμ_4配位をしている。そのためRh2Se2Rh2の骨格は、バタフライ構造となっている。錯体2は、アセトニトリル中、低温(-40°C)で、結晶中で見られた構造を一定にして保っている。しかし温度を上げるとfluxionalな挙動が観察される。低温で見られる非等価な四つのメチレンの^1HNMRシグナルは、温度を上げると二つの非等価なシグナルに変わる。このfluxionalな挙動は、完全に可逆である。この温度依存性の^1HNMRスペクトル変化は、分子内“flapping"運動(二つのSe原子でのsynchronous double-site atomic inversion)で説明できる。-40°Cでのメチレンの四つのシグナルをlow temperature limitスペクトルとしてスペクトルの波形解析を行い、各温度でのflapping運動の速度定数をもとめた。これらの値を用いてEyringプロットを行うと、良い直線が得られた。これより活性化パラメーターとしてΔG^‡=66±1kJmol^<-1>(at298.15K),ΔH^‡=70±1 kJmol^<-1>そしてΔS^‡=15±1 Jmol^<-1>K^<-1>が算出された。比較的小さいΔS^‡の値は、運動が分子内で起こっていることを支持しており、またΔH‡の値もSe原子上でのpyramidal atomic inversionに対して妥当な値である。
