研究概要

1) 探針に働く力の高感度検出の実現
高分解能なフォトン原子間力顕微鏡を実現するためには、探針に働く微弱な力を高感度に検出する必要がある。そこで、まず、現有の振動振幅安定化回路にノイズ成分の極めて少ない可変ゲインアンプを導入し、超安定な振動振幅を実現した。また、現有の周波数復調回路を改良し、超高感度な周波数検出を実現した。
2) 超安定なエバネッセント場の実現
超高分解能を有するフォトン原子間力顕微鏡を実現するためには、超安定なエバネッセント場を実現する必要がある。そこで、光学レンズやプリズム表面での不要反射を極限まで低減するように照射光学系を改良し、光源の安定化を実現する。3) エバネッセント光の散乱過程に関する基礎的検討
力だけでなく、散乱光の強度やスペクトラムも同時に測定し、エバネッセント光の散乱過程における力の発生機構を検討した。
4) 空間分解能を向上させるための指針の取得
エバネッセント光から力への変換効率や空間分解能を制限している因子を検討し、フォトン原子間力顕微鏡の空間分解能を向上させるためには、探針と試料表面との接触電位差を補償する必要があることを見いだした。また、そのための方法を新たに考案した。
6) フォトン原子間力顕微鏡の性能評価
試料として直径50nm程度のラテックス球を取り上げ、フォトン原子間力顕微鏡の垂直方向および水平方向の分解能を評価した。
