ジルコニヤの相転移に伴う組織形成のコンピュータシミュレーション

研究概要	本研究では、コンピュータシミュレーションを用いて、ジルコニアセラミックスのc-t相転移に伴う微細組織形成に関する解析を行った。また第一原理的手法を用いて、c-ZrO_2安定化に関する解析も行った。 ZrO_2-Y_2O_3系のc-t相分離初期段階で観察される周期的な層状組織に対して、サブナノレベルのブローブを有する分析電子顕微鏡を用いて化学分析を行った。その結果、各ラメラ間でYイオン濃度が異なっており、電子顕微鏡像のコントラストと対応していることが明らかとなった。また、相分離の進行に伴いYイオン濃度の振幅が増加することも明らかとなった。さらにラメラ間でのYイオン濃度の変化を詳細に調べると、ラメラ界面でYイオン濃度が連続的に変化していることも実験的に示された。これは、これまでのコンピュータシミュレーションにより示された結果とよく合致するものである。また、このような組織の特徴は、この層状組織がスピノーダル分解に起因する変調構造であると考えることにより合理的に説明されうるものである。すなわち、ZrO_2-Y_2O_3系のc-t相分離はスピノーダル分解を伴うものであり、これはジルコニアのc-t無拡散相転移が二次相転移的な性質を有しているという考えを支持するものである。またc-ZrO_2およびt-ZrO_2に対してDV-Xα分子軌道法による計算を行ったところ、結晶中の隣接酸素イオン間の干渉と構造の安定性が密接に関連にしていることが明らかとなった。また同様の計算により、c-ZrO_2の安定化には、大きなイオン半径を有する陽イオンの添加と酸素イオン空孔の導入が有効であることも明らかとなった。
